World War Era/Present Day Opposing Parties
Explanation of Relationship between the Parties
The Democrats wished to add additional taxes to the wealthy while the Republicans wished to cut taxes of the wealthy. Though they disagreed on this, they agreed on many anti-Communist issues and Vietnam War solutions as these two were potentially a great threat to United States Democracy and ideas. Modern Democrats tax the wealthy as they believe that those who make less shouldn't be required to pay the same amount that a wealthy person should. This they believe will increase the spending within the United States on goods and products which will stabilize and benefit the United States Economy. In addition to this, the Government wishes to decrease spending on the military and feel socially responsible for everyone. The Modern Republicans are supportive of the free market and wish to keep taxes at the same rate for every person so as to not penalize the rich and wealthy for being rich and successful by increased taxes. The Republicans oppose the ideas of the Democrats in the tax system as well as their ideas to increase military spending as well as promoting individual rights and power within the economy.
Democratic Party
A Democrat is typically known as a supporter of a broader range of social services in America than those advocated by Republicans. Democrats prefer lower increases in military spending and are less trigger happy when it comes to using military force against Europe. Democrats support progressive taxes meaning they want high-income individuals to pay taxes at a higher rate. They support an increase taxes on the wealthy to pay for public programs. They believed in more government help to the people as opposed to the Republican social Darwinist theory.
During World War II, the Democrats dominated the federal government. The fair deal of the Truman administration continued the trend in governmental involvement like increased social security and public housing. The Democrats pledge to provide a stable government present in almost all aspects of human need. The Democratic Party is therefore built upon a broad popular base focused on the strength and power of socially diverse citizens. They believe the government should ensure that all people are taken care of by, for example, providing welfare, food stamps, education opportunities, and health-care to those in need.

Republican Party
Republican philosophy is based on a limited influence of government and a dominant foreign policy. Republicans prefer increasing military spending and have a more hard line stance against countries like Europe during wartime. Republicans support tax cuts for everyone (rich and poor alike). They consider higher tax rates on the rich a form of class warfare. They believed in less government and more survival of the fittest as opposed to the Democratic way of helping everyone in need.
The position of the government was undoubtedly pro-business. Though conservative, the government experimented with new approaches to public policy and was an active agent of economic change to respond to an American culture increasingly urban, industrial, and consumer-oriented. Their belief is that while it is the role of government to regulate and oversee morality, it is not the government’s responsibility to care for each individual. The Republican Party is based on the principles of personal responsibility, that individuals determine how they want to live their life, and should be allowed to succeed or fail based upon their own merits without government interference.

ANSWER
B. Many of today's problems and oppositions between the two political parties, Democrats and Republicans, are due to the idea of who to tax and how to fix a broken economy.
